Welcome to our Blog!

We are all 5 years old and go to Ladbrooks School. We love to learn and we enjoy having fun with our class at our school.
Thank you for following our learning adventures on our blog.

Pyjama Disco...

We had a lovely time at the pyjama disco. There were lots of good moves by Weka students. I have also a few Tui students on film, too, it seems.

T-shirts

My class all made t-shirts,
Little printed t-shirts,
And on their printed t-shirts, on the fronts, you'll see...

...well, lots of pictures designed and printed by the children themselves!

I know that doesn't quite fit with the rhyme (which is based on a book the children read at school called 'T-shirts') but it is true!

I think the t-shirts look just marvellous! I love the designs - they are so original and fresh and COOL! Just like the designers themselves, I suppose!

Have a look at them!

Swimming started today...

We went to Kings Swim School today and the children did a great job in the pool and on the bus and getting dressed too! All good!

Here's some pics...

Fun at school and after school, too!

Many of the children in Weka play sport with lots of them playing rugby.
I was lucky to be sent some photos of the awesome Weka learners in their rugby gear.  I think they are the mighty Waihora team (and I'm sure to be corrected if I am wrong).
They certainly look unbeatable to me!
Great work, team!

New Students

Those of you who have followed the Weka blogs for a while will know just how much we LOVE having new students join our class. We are so lucky to have had 2 new students start recently. They are amazing people, very clever and great learners. They are really settling in well to our class. If you see them at school, say hello to them.

Welcome to Weka!

Holiday pics!

One of our lucky students had an awesome holiday over the Easter break. I got sent some photos of him doing exciting things. Here they are...

Riding a pony at Kaikoura Farm Park...

A little blue 'Fairy' penguin at an aquarium. It was unwell and was getting better at the aquarium.

Looking at some puppets at the Picton Little Theatre.

Riding in a rocket on the Picton foreshore.

Thanks for sending these pictures along. What a lucky boy you were in the holidays!

Visit to Keryn's house

We had a great visit to Keryn's house. We saw Stella the dog, who was extremely pleased to have so many new friends to pat her.

We saw Splash who is very famous in Weka. He has grown up so much! He is not a chick any more - he is an adult pukeko. He let some of the children pat him and he ate some mash for us. He was very curious about the Weka learners visiting his pond.

We went to the paddock to say hello to Basil and Choccy. Choccy was too full of grass to even have a bit of hay! Luckily Basil is never too full for hay so he ate it for her. We all patted Basil and Choccy on their shoulders and learned never to run up to a horse and to always speak gently to them. Basil and Choccy were very happy that we were so sensible around them. The children noticed that they were very soft and warm to stroke. Choccy had a roll on the ground because she was itchy and she wanted to scratch her back. Rolling is the way she can do that.

We went inside and Keryn filled up some little easter baskets that we had made that morning with some easter eggs. Lucky us!

Splash was curious while we ate our lunch. He came up to see us on the deck! He is not allowed up on the deck, but he does try to get on there a lot.  What a rascal!

Wow, Weka!  What great kids you all were at the visit!
