Quality Learning Plan 2013

Welcome to our Learning Plan!

The students in Weka have been working very hard over the past few weeks to develop this Learning Plan.
We worked together, talked a lot and thought carefully about what we wanted learning to be like in our class and at our school.
We shared our ideas and listened to other people’s views, too.

Our Learning Plan will help us become READY, WILLING
and ABLE to LEARN TOGETHER every day at Ladbrooks School.

Our Learning Plan will also help us have fun, be happy and be successful in our learning.

In our Learning Plan, you will read about our…
·       School Values
·       School Beliefs
·       Class Norms
·       Motto
·       Classroom expectations/rules
·       Classroom consequences

We are proud of our work and hope that you will help us in our journey towards success.

·   Thinking about what others may need

Key Competencies

The Key Competencies are what we use as we live, learn work and contribute as active members of our community.  They are needed by everyone across many life contexts to help meet important challenges.

In Weka, we asked ourselves three questions and related our answers to them to the Key Competencies from the New Zealand Curriculum. We used our discussions to develop shared ‘Norms’ or understandings about our rights, roles and responsibilities in Weka.

·     What is a quality student?
·     What is a quality teacher?
·     What is quality work?

       Thinking
                   Managing
                         self                        Using language,
                                                    symbols and texts
             Participating
         and Contributing         Relating to others

·    Tries their best
·    Doesn’t give up
·    Does a good job
